We are not a big farm, but we have a big heart and big ideas on making food accessible, affordable and exciting. We start our seeds out during various times of the year and slowly grow our plants in our heated greenhouse, some to maturity. We try to grow seasonal foods but to be honest love growing our tomatoes and peppers year-round for sale and consumption.
Our seedlings get their start on a heat mat then spend 2-4 weeks in the NFT channels where they get their nutrient boost and growth. Normally we pot and sell from this stage to other growers, but have been experimenting with other methods this winter, some traditional.
In the summer of 2018 we planted Onions and Garlic for a 2019 spring harvest. We are looking forward to planting Garlic in the spring of 2019. Make sure you experience our baby ginger!!
We are increasing our chicken count from 50 to 110 this summer and tripling their living arrangement. We had to stop their ability to roam the grounds due to adding an additional 100 blueberry plants and planting a lavender field. We want to be sure to avoid cross contamination. I want to assure our Poultry customers that the eggs will still be nutritious and great tasting. We are looking forward to the chicken expansion in 2019 as the new grounds will give the chickens more natural critters to chase around and allow us to grow more protein packed greens.
Our hydroponic peppers have been good to us. We are fortunate to be able to bless four other families while we enjoyed peppers year-round.
March of 2019 will be our first honeybee colony so stand by these announcements. Be sure to join our mailing list.
